In the Land of Nod
Yes, this is different than anything I normally do. I pulled out an old classroom assignment and finished it. I had become frozen on which direction to go with it and let it go. Direction didn't seem as important now as successful completion. Lots of experimentation with color and line and maybe it will interest someone much more than I. Some of the challenges that blocked me in the past are easing up and flowing on out. Now to finish that dog portrait! Oh and the peacocks and print up that deer edition!

Hey lady this look great, love the effect around the moon. Your finished with it?
The photo is poor, in daylight too.
I did put it in NAL's Dreams show.
Is this different for you? I love it! It's wonderful!
Good to hear that you enter it in the show. Must feel good finishing up the pieces.
Hi Doris,
Love this side of you, the fantasy side, playful and whimsical. Glad to see you exploring different aspects of who you are. Such delicate touches and it certainly interests me. I find myself taking old pieces and working on them again too. When I am stuck it seems to get the juices flowing and breaths new life into them. I hope to see this magical fellow when I am out in the woods again. He and the fairy spirits as well.
P.S. When is the Dream's Show?

Wow! Doris, I'm intrigued by this picture. I like the way you've depicted moon as a ring... and the character holding the orb. Is it from your imagination? Or from a book? It's magical.
The wizard and much of the cloth came from a still life set in front of me. I closed up the fabric and imagined a setting. There had been a great deal of color exploration going on.
This is beautiful. I love the colors in the sky and the feeling of tranquility the picture evokes.
Thanks Elena!
