New Years Day Drawings

It had been two weeks since a drawing session was available and I was really looking forward to starting the New Year off with like-minded friends, new and old. My first time at Illinois Benedictine location, it was nice to be back into an art room setting. Double booked models for a four hour session, Anne was new to me, but a great model, very athletic. And good to see Gerry again. Some great starts on new works...

New Years Eve at Brookfield Zoo

I had longed for quite some time to see the zoo lights and visit a nightime zoo. My sister made plans to take her kids and invited me and Mom too. We doubled it up with a train trip and walk and the weather cooperated perfectly. Rain was done and the warmth made it easy to leisurely walk the grounds and enjoy the winter display. Another thing on the list to do again someday. Great way to end the year!

Jordan

Focused on what I needed to achieve this week. A monochromatic figure. Obviously I could have chosen brown, but where would the woodland nymphs be then? Jordan was lovely as usual. Cold night, small more intimate group. Celebratory libations and food. Lengthy pose. Enjoyed the evening.

Art Thieves

My first experience with Kendall Art Guild's Christmas Party with it's popular "art thieves" grab bag. I came home after some delicious dinner and fellowship with exquisite fused glass coasters handcrafted by Jeanne Dennis. Quite a delightful array of gifts to steal from.

Rise and Shine

Aggie just has not adapted to the time change last month and gets me up as early as
3:30 am to go out! I resisted until 5:00am this morning, but it's not sleeping with her prancing, whining and barking. But being up before the sun, I sometimes forget to look out at the morning's glory. Here it is, the almost winter sunrise. There's a crescent moon behind the trees and the morning star. Should have set the camera to close up.
