In the Land of Nod

Yes, this is different than anything I normally do. I pulled out an old classroom assignment and finished it. I had become frozen on which direction to go with it and let it go. Direction didn't seem as important now as successful completion. Lots of experimentation with color and line and maybe it will interest someone much more than I. Some of the challenges that blocked me in the past are easing up and flowing on out. Now to finish that dog portrait! Oh and the peacocks and print up that deer edition!

Patti Tonight

Not sure what was in the air tonight, but no-one seemed to want to do a long pose but me! Short poses from this evening. Patti is such a trooper! Modeled with a broken foot! Most swellimg down and purple subsided. She's such a wonderful lady!

Women's Business Network

Attended monthly meeting of my group involvement in entrepreneurship. Women's Business Network meets third Monday of month, and there it is always a learning and sharing experience. Meetings are held at North Central College Campus in Naperville, IL. Tonight Jackie Kleck, an organizer, gave ideas on getting rid of clutter and lists of options for going green with your de-clutter projects. Good reference material. I was able to give my business representation and brought my visuals, prints and plates and photo portfolio of work for viewing. I was pleased with the comments and interest it initiated. Lynn Zuk-Lloyd did a presentation on marketing on the internet and all the different options and ideas out there on our cyber playgrounds. What we do with them and how we draw interest initiating sales is multifaceted and building a web of resourses and connections a powerful component of sales today. Rather pumped from the discussions, so much to do...so little time.

Good Morning!

Change in solar axis puts the morning sun further north my windows and rises over the neighboring farm. Is that a rooster I hear?

Ashley tonight

It was very good to be back at life after a week without...challenges the perception again. I introduced Ska music to the group...don't think it was widely accepted, but a few were pleased. Some Tom Petty and Daryl Hall & John Oates kept the evening lively. I requested an impromptu critique of my wizard drawing which is coming into its final stages and got favorable suggestions toward it's completion. I'll share him shortly...intend to have him ready for dreamscape show coming this month yet. Into the Land of Nod. Rod didn't make it this evening with me, a friend of his broke her arm as it was time to be heading in. Almost felt guilty leaving to draw, but it was not a youth I knew nor did I know her parents, certainly any one else would have been useful there. So draw I did..filled another sketchbook...really need to head out to pick up more...down to few paper choices.

Labors

The hole from bush removal is filled in, the pile is burned down and I look around and consider what to tackle next. More escavation? Apple tree didn't survive the asian beetle infestation last summer and the dogs graciously helped me dig out those roots!

Hear me Roar!

I am woman! Finished my bush project, well almost, burning yet to do and seed planting over mud pit! I was thinking I wouldn't get it out...quite negative of me...and then I felt a little movement in the mass! I was deep enough and soon I had accomplished my feat. The root balls are all down to the burn pile and branches still need to go also...but the pile is as tall as I can safely burn so close to my pear trees. An apple tree pushed over today, massacred by the Asian beetle last summer, it was lost. I was able to push it over and cut remaining roots below ground level. And now the grass is 10 inches tall in areas! Hopefully my RC will be by to rev up the tractor and get it done while I'm out tomorrow. Just found out my Randell has returned from his jaunt to Colorado. Haven't talked to him yet, anxious to.
