Morning View

I've been doing overtime in the A.M. as the warehouse heats up excessively during the day. Average office hours at my desk have been 95 degrees. But when I'm up and have time to write morning pages... here is my morning view. (With morning glories covering my fenceline.) A cup of tea and my day starts off.

Gifts

I'm really grateful for my weeds. Aren't they gorgeous? Stray bird seed in the edge of my patio and foundation. Not really sure where the morning glories came from. I wanted to plant some but never did. I have allowed them to take over areas and burn the vines after they've dried.

Who Does She Think She Is?

Who Does She Think She is?
Finally watched the whole film. Sad to say I fell asleep on several viewings. Definitely not boring. Definitely worth viewing. But I am too many things and to set a spell generally means to doze. I was apprehensive about viewing as the last thing I need is more anger about being a second class citizen. But I felt some alliance with others who have had to struggle with the balance, and understanding with those who struggle to maintain a relationship as a wife and artist. An elderly gentleman artist recently told me that if I were going to make it as an artist I'd need a spouse to handle the marketing and sales as one person cannot do it all. Although that was a downer statement, it also helps identify who I think I am, and who I might become. And maybe it's long overdue that I express that anger. Heading into Women Who Run With the Wolves dialogue and study with artist way tribe... all sorts of old crones to study...

Zoo Holiday

Had a wonderful holiday at the zoo. How many days off do I get? Very few, so it was great to join Laura with free day at zoo. The crowds came out. We had hoped to get some sketch time in, but another day, another trip. I took a bunch of pictures for reference and most were too dark to see at all. More learning to do. Since I grew up with zoo trips on those free days, and took my own kids on those free days too, I was surprised by the amount of fathers with their families. Just not what you see on Tuesday or Thursday. But enjoyed the new wolf, bear and bison exhibits. We saw the morning dolphin show and those fantastic shots were dark too. All the children playing in the fountains and new misters was very warming too... also noticed those afternoon hours when the kiddos were exhausted and harder to manage. Did I go to people watch?
