Fyo

But oh, here's an late update on my grand baby. Randell, Stefanie and baby angel Fyo, at eight weeks. Hope to see some copies of me holding him... He's ten weeks now.

Sculpture

Curious about this sculpture yet, it was on grounds behind visitor center at Notre Dame. Saw nothing else like it on our quick viewing of the grounds and campus.

Holy Cross Chapel

First stop on pilgramage at Notre Dame, Indiana. Lovely little chapel at Stinson-Remick Hall. St. Joseph (Patron of the Brothers of Holy Cross and Engineers) represents Spring. St. Joseph's symbol is The Easter Lily, the just one. The Holy Family and tools repesent his vocation. The dome represents the dome of St. Peter's, the universal church. Cherry blossoms, tulips, robins, and mourning doves represent Spring. Our Lady of Sorrows (Patroness of Holy Cross Priests, Brothers, and Sisters) represents Summer. Mary is surrounded by The child Jesus and Mary, Seat of Wisdom; the Tower of David; The Morning Star; and Ark of the Covenant. The seven stars in her halo represents her seven sorrows, as does the tear running down her cheek. Summer is represented by butterflies, finches, bluebirds, chipmunks. A church mouse hides near a rose. Father Moreau (Founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross) represents Autumn. Symbols include the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Most Pure Heart of Joseph, the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sorrowful Heart of Mary. Autumn signs are maples leaves of color, wedge of flying geese, patch of pumpkins, a finch and a squirrel. Brother Andre (Founder of St. Joseph's Oratory, Montreal, Canada) represents Winter. Symbols include the cross and anchors of the Congregation of Holy Cross, the door of Notre Dame College in Montreal(where he was a doorman for forty years), crutches left behind by those healed at St. Joseph's Oratory on Mount Royal, Montreal: and the dome of St. Joseph's Oratory. Winter is represented by holly leaves and berries, snow on the ground and falling, deer, cardinal and chickadees. This little chapel was experienced by surprise in self guided tour. The beauty in the stained glass was just the beginning... more beauty to follow.

Pilgramage

Pilgramage started Oct 3, 2013. First stop Notre Dame. This tree on campus filled with ribbons for loved ones lost and loved ones surviving cancer. Take a close up... from a distance I was curious as to what kind of tree it possibly could be.

Welcome Fyodor James Schmid!

My first grandchild arrived yesterday healthy and happy at 10 pounds, 21 inches. Tonight I get to meet him, can't wait!
