Jordan in Blue

My photos did not show well, I worked in shades of blue last night. A little birdie told me too. The first sketch was done in color pencil and some turquoise or greens were showing up on the paper.

My second sketch was done in hard pastels, obviously a little brown or orange appeared.
It was so good to be back among like minds. There were quite a few artists there as Jordan is rather special. I debated going, my time constraints and lack of finances were saying no, but it's been three weeks since I picked up a pencil. And then, out on my lunchtime walk I picked up a pair of gloves, a blue china plate (without even a chip!) and a second blue bunting this week. And of course my milestones. So I now have two little bluebirds waiting for me to sketch and I had some practice mixing those blues...

Is that an indago bunting Doris...what an awesome color..one of my favorites.. I feel for the bird but I also see a composition right there for you... did you find it on you afternoon walks?

I do home the heavens allow you some time to draw this and with help complete a piece if that's the plan... if not it's a great reference shot for later on..

Now I'll pray for the rain to hold up so you dont' have to spend so much time cutting the areage and can do some drawing...

Oh and loving the orange back ground on this to poses above. makes for some interesting work..

You have to keep us informed of you treasures and keep taking pictures of them and share with us..I so love the presents you have been receiving..did you say you had some tree trimming to do..now your hands will be saved with the new gloves and a new plate to eat off one special night... after you finish sketching the Indigo bunting... look at me I've got it all planned out for you...hehehe..

love how feet and chair kind of melt away on the second pose. Very interesting compositions as always. And though there's not much blue here showing, kind of love the hot oranges.Sometimes photographs can be happy mistakes.
I see a composition all ready for you in that bottom pic. Can see you painting it as is.I also see symbolism here, can you?
Seems blue is calling to you from the Universe. What a beautiful bird (sleeping so peacefully as my husband would say).
Love your vision....

I'm wondering where the blues will take me? (Picasso's blue period?) Is there any other meaning to the color beside cools? Sky, water? Blue flowering weeds in my driveway... and all the ditches. Yep, I'm calling them indigo buntings, so tiny and perfect.

Oh my gosh - that beautiful little bird. The second "blue" bird you've found? In the woods? Awwww.
