Shrooms

And then I got real small... I nearly laid on the ground to shoot these. I have no idea what is in the mulch put down around the trees at work, but we have some very interesting specimens that don't necessarily survive two days in a row. Have not seen any pixies among them yet. I just happened to have my camera in my purse yesterday. Had a nice lunch walk in the cooler weather. Sunhawk soared above, Whistlepig scurried his fat little bottom ahead on my path and I stopped to watch a small snapper swimming in the creek until he was out of view. Everyone seems to be pleased with the cooler days.

RC's 25th Birthday!

My son is 25, how is it possible that I am 29? I must be 39! Damn Alzheiners. Mom, Rachel and Loyal, Randell, RC and Meghan all came for dinner at Danelli's while I worked. I sat a bit with them, but most of all enjoyed their laughter and camraderie. They are beautiful. I have done well.

Evening Off

It didn't take much prodding (from myself)to take an evening off. I was going to check my wallet, get some gas and head out to draw after a very long haitus. deciding I needed that cash, elsewhere, I checked and drawing was canceled tonight anyway. I opened the new Gaiam in todays mail, set a glass of wine out and watched the corn come down. They were in the fields late last night and up again early this morning. The drone of the tractor and rumbling of the combines, the shuffle of corn into the waiting freight trailers. All sounds I enjoy, too soon, but still a blissful time to set and think awhile.

Fall has Arrived

I'm not ready. I love fall, but I had not experienced summer, no swimming, no dog days, no moonlit evenings escaping the heat on the patio. Just work and more work. With economy as it is, can I complain? I've not seen the leisure of summer and it's gone. Is money really worth it? I want to see the lightning bugs glitter above the green corn... it's a long wait now.

More Pictures From the Weekend Show

My handsome son RC and his adorable girl Meghan came to support the show and left inspired by the collage demo of Laura's. Wonder what I'll get for my birthday? Can't wait!
