Sylvia

Sylvia had some great poses. I was anxious and overdue to slip into the zone and fell in fast with rapid strokes and expressive colors. Had some new youngsters from Nequa Valley with wonderful talents working alongside the regulars tonight. Freshness. Ellen brought music tonight, also refreshing. Chris brought some fresh tomatoes. My first garden tomatoes of the year, inhaled deeply. A needed break from the anxiety that bests me currently.

Imagine on Main

I'd mistakenly titled this "Jordan" previously, this is "Jill." Another great model that we've not had in awhile as she's quite busy with school. I pulled it out of the Kendall Art Guild booth at Oswego Art Fair and walked it back over to Imagine On Main where it will be available for sale. Located at 56 N. Main in Oswego. 630)551-7665. She seems to look stunning among jewelry display. $150.00

Oswego Art Fair

"In the Land of Nod"
Color pencil drawing I put into the group booth at Oswego Art Fair, downtown Oswego, Aug 22-23, 2009. I left two other entries but was uncertain how many memebers of Kendall Art Guild would be adding pictures to the group booth. I am scheduled to man the booth from 1-4pm tomorrow, Sunday the 23rd. I hope to see a lot of people at the local fair.

Tonight with Jordan

Jordan did wonderful poses this evening. Many regulars enjoyed getting together to wish Patrick well in his travels. He'd been drawing with us for the past 9 months and his presence will be greatly missed. It had been overdue to leave the world behind and fall deeply into the creative zone for a couple hours.

The Trillium and JD

Inked intaglio print in current exhibit, available for sale at LaGrange Art League.
JD was my dog years ago, who was stolen from my back yard. I wanted to remember him as he was happiest running through the woods. It had been criticized at one time by an art student who felt the dog was out of place, going nowhere. A little bit of spiritual essence inflamed into the piece? For many months, I would awaken at night hearing a distant dog barking, hoping my JD was finding his way back home.

Primitive Art

Obviously my camera settings were off as again I took blurry pictures. We were discussing primitive art and being self taught while exploring the new medium of oil pastel. Imagined scenes without realism or concern with perspective. In the themes of Henri Rousseau or Edward Hicks. One more class tomorrow where we'll delve in cubism. So many techniques and theories to try out. We've a student show to exhibit at La Grange Art League, coming quickly with show running Aug 15 thru 22nd. Which pieces will Olivia and Brittany choose to exhibit? Open reception for the students Aug 22nd from 2-4 pm.
