The Trillium and JD

Inked intaglio print in current exhibit, available for sale at LaGrange Art League.
JD was my dog years ago, who was stolen from my back yard. I wanted to remember him as he was happiest running through the woods. It had been criticized at one time by an art student who felt the dog was out of place, going nowhere. A little bit of spiritual essence inflamed into the piece? For many months, I would awaken at night hearing a distant dog barking, hoping my JD was finding his way back home.

Oh Doris, when you look at this, you know there has to be a lot of meaning to it. Such sentiment. So sad. It's a beautiful drawing. I'm so sorry about J.D. How wonderful to do a piece just for him.

What a wonderfully personal piece. Thank you for sharing the story to go along with it. Love the symbolism and if people don't get it, their loss.
As a pet owner, I know that bond, that unconditional love these creatures give us. JD was honored to have you in his life.
P.S. The variety of leaves and that green color are exquisite as a frame around JD.

I think it's beautiful. I viewed the picture of JD in the gap of leaves as symbolic of the hole his loss has left. I can't imagine losing my Jazz....
