Chante

Again computer had spyware attacking as I tried to upload pictures. Sat through scan this morning and picture upload went well. Working very quickly with the oil pastels and getting rather messy. Still not finding medium suitable to make adjustments. Wonder if any pastelists use graphite or charcoal under drawing. I guess more cautious rendering and less mistakes might help.

For some reason, I love her necklace, it pops and looks intriguing. Also like how you just created her upper body. Leaves me to wonder about the rest of her, what she looks like.

I played with pastels and pastel pencils over a watercolor painting yesterday. The pastels added brightness to a flat dull original painting.

Why don't you just go the mixed media route and say anything goes and just play?

I love her necklace too and her hair and just everything

Her necklace was of cowrie shells. She also adds yarn to her cornrows. There was a glint of green in her hair. She is beautiful.

How interesting. And I think that sounds like a good title "Her Necklace Was of Cowrie Shells".
