Life Last Night

Ashley was beautiful as usual. Nice group attended last night as Patrick was in town from his current location of Rio. It was very good to see him again. Hoping he doesn't stay away so long. David came too. Been about 6 weeks since he's attended the Tuesday group. I was able to fall into my work and stretch my experience with oil pastels. Still a ways to go. Full pose is quite difficult without a point on the pastels. Able to get much cleaner drawing when cropping the pose. The evening was over much too soon and with upcoming holiday it will be two weeks till next group.

I'm liking this lady, there's a certain feeling you are creating with the pastels that I've not seen in the other work, I'm not sure what it is but its speaking loudly and strong... All good visually. Keep it up happy to follow you personal journey with the pastels.

I like cropping. Seems to add a bit more mystery, we have to fill in the blanks. Love the composition of the 1st, my eyes roam around freely.
In the second image, I like how the hair blends into the purplish background, merging. Almost like a spiritual aura around her. You are a marvel at capturing the essence of a model, she seems wistful to me!

Love the blending of colours you've done to express the skin tones. And the way the purple of the cloth is reflected in the skin's shadows on the full pose. Good work Doris!Glad you had a good time at your group.
