Lauren

Lauren did a wonderful job tonight. Really interesting poses...had to share the gestures also! Didn't have a long pose tonight but it was very refreshing. I had played some rather different music tonight, a few Beethoven pieces, before a dark waltz recital, ending with a much more vibrant Enya track. The evening flew by and I really wasn't ready to quit...so much flowing into and out of my pieces. But it's late and I do promise to share my linocut soon. The proof I had done was with very old water base ink. Enough to show the composition but not good detail. It's interesting but not a masterpiece.

looking at the warm up piece are great fun, to see where you start and when it ends up.
Oh were you able to see that DVD about figure drawing yet?

Not yet! Hope it'll fit in soon.

Were those last two quick poses? Fun to put several figures on one page like that. You sure have your own style, love the foreshortening of the top 3,seemed challenging to learn that style but it sure adds impact, I think! Middle sketch looks like it might have been a hard angle to work from, still makes me at least want to pull up some of my older life drawing sketches and see if they'll motivate me to start life drawing again. Someday.....P.S. I feel your passion for this coming through, by the way.Remember what I said about a gallery show someday?

I always look forward to reading this blog on Wednesdays. It's great to see what you've done on Tuesday.

Again great job on the foreshortening! Seriously I'm impressed.

I almost stopped by the Art League to say hello last night. I was in town visiting my daughter but the session had already started by time I was free.

Laura, I'm curious what is the DVD you talked about?

I too am impressed with the foreshortening. Not an easy thing to pull of but you did it magnificently.

Thanks Doris for passing it along. I did enjoy the DVD, I liked his easy approach to the whole creative process. He goes through and shows different mediums to use too. No as detailed as our Doris here but still a beautiful subject matter.
